One private Publishing Strategy Consultation with Lisa Tarves, Founder & Publisher, of up to approximately 45 minutes, to discuss the author’s manuscript, publishing goals, available resources, and practical path toward publication.
Lisa brings experience from both sides of publishing. Before founding Making Sense Press, she published through other publishing companies and learned firsthand what authors need, where professional help matters, and where publishing costs can become unnecessarily high. She now publishes her own books through Making Sense Press and created the company around a different philosophy: authors should be able to produce a professional-quality book without being forced to purchase expensive services they do not need.
During this consultation, Lisa will help the author identify what they can reasonably handle themselves, what resources they may already have, where professional assistance may be worthwhile, and how to approach the manuscript, cover, formatting, and publishing process efficiently without sacrificing quality.
What You Handle
Essential Imprint is for authors who are managing their own book-production process. The author is responsible for arranging and completing editing, proofreading, interior formatting, cover design, technical file preparation, publishing-platform account setup and management, and any marketing or advertising beyond what Making Sense Press specifically includes.
Important: Making Sense Press does not require authors to use any particular editor, designer, formatter, or other service provider. Authors may choose their own qualified professionals.
